Kekal from Indonesia was formed back in 1995. Their first album
‘Beyond The
Glimpse Of Dreams’, released in 1998 by
Sonic Wave, sold directly over 5,000
copies. And so
Kekal became one of the most important bands in the Asian
scene. Right from the beginning
Kekal created their own sound. Their mix of
black-metal with classic-metal guitar-riffs and drum ‘n bass made them
unique worldwide.

For example:
Kekal was even influenced by artists such as
Enya and
Rush.
The story continued in 1999 with the release of
‘Embrace The Dead’, two
years later followed by
‘The Painful Experience’ (CATALOG # FD005). This was
the first album released by the Holland based label
Fear Dark. After doing a split-cd with the leading Dutch dark/black metal band
Slechtvalk,
Kekal started working on
‘1000 Thoughts Of Violence’ (CATALOG #
FD011). This album gave them their final breakthrough, selling over 1,000 copies within the first month in Indonesia only! All important European
music publication wrote awesome reviews and many (like
Aardschok and
Mindview) wrote articles about
Kekal. Their success made it even possible to
do their first European tour through Holland, Germany and Sweden. Now the Indonesian masters of extreme metal returns with
‘Acidity’ (CATALOG
# FD016), their long awaited new album. Again
Kekal improved themselves by using influences from classic metal to emo-core, black metal and even
progressive rock. Never repeating, always competing:
Kekal – Acidity!
